Session 4

Mortlock Vanthampur

PCs (lvl 2): Martin, Ozwald, Sylran, Theridhas

The party continues to delve into de Dungeon of the Dead Three, facing more of the fearsome cultists and their undead minions.

In one of the rooms they meet Mortlock Vanthampur, the youngest son of Duchess Thalamra, while he's defending himself from a gang of cultists. The PCs help Mortlock survive, and he shares some info with them.

He knows his mother and brothers are paying the cultists to kill people in Baldur's Gate, to show that the Flaming Fists have failed in protecting Baldur's Gate. In this way, Duchess Thalamra hopes to raise to the status of Grand Duke.

He also believes his brothers have paid the Dead Three to kill him, and he now plans to leave the city. He point the PCs in the direction of the Low Lantern, a ship-tavern that his brother Amrik ues to conduct his illicit affairs.

The PCs loot the coffers of the Dead Three, retrieving several object apparently stolen from a dragon hoard. When they leave the dungeon, and return to the surface, they find a band of dragon cultists, servants of Tiamat, waiting for them. They want to claim whatever treasure the PCs retrieved from the dungeon, stating that "it belongs to our queen in Avernus!" The party is not intimidated, and slaughters the cultists where they stand.
